Electronic Learning and Teaching

Digital technologies and e-learning play a vital role in 21st-century learning. Students can be experts alongside teachers to help drive and own new learning. They are able to understand how they learn and can think critically to reflect on goals. Digital technology is an integrated tool that is used throughout curriculum areas.  Essentially having access to digital technologies in our classrooms can help the teacher and child take their learning to a deeper, higher level.

Since 2020, digital technologies have become an integral part of the NZ technology
curriculum. Teachers have all had PD to learn about the new learning progressions and are now implementing this new aspect of the technologies curriculum into their yearly programmes.

Digital devices have the potential to expand and enhance interaction in the classroom, enable more real-world activities, improve learning environments, and engage students in new and exciting ways. Opportunities for collaboration and problem-solving are expanded beyond the classroom in an online environment. We have a 1:3 ratio in our school, this supports greater flexibility in learning pathways, empowering students to learn in a more personalised way with increased control over their own learning. This can help students engage more deeply in their learning and lift their achievement.
